Day 1 - 19th November 2018 Day 2 - 20th November 2018 A Rogaine race is held at El Boixar (small moutain village, 1.089 meters of altitude). The race is organized by the school teachers' team, with the help of the Town Council and the Mountain Club 7 Pobles. The details of the activity are gathered in this Drive file Rogaine preparation. The objective is to search for 5 control points in less than 2 hours with the help of a map and a compass. There are 14 participant teams: 10 international workgroups plus 4 teams of the 11 year pupils from La Sénia who do not participate in the exchange. The route is recorded by each team using an smartphone and the Strava application. This data is used the following day for the Physics activities at school. The local students' supervised by Viqui Almuni (History teacher) prepare the script for the tour. Day 3 - 21st November 2018 08:00-14:30 Project activities “Physics and Trail Running at El Boixar”. The international groups apply Kinematics to the data recorded the previous day with the Strava GPS App. Trail Running Tracks The second activity studies the plots position/time and apply linear regression to the experimental data to find out the mathematical links between these two variables and its Physics interpretation. Trail Running Speed Each workgroup uses host students' laptops. They write their answers with a Word Processor (Word or Open Writer), make calculations and plots with a Spreadsheet (Excel or Open Calc) and place the resuls in a cooperative Padlet on the Twinspace.
